A quick status update on the journey to southern Mexico. I just got off the phone with Gary. He and Will have made it safely to Phoenix. I'm reminded of that saying about a long journey beginning with a single step. Well, that first step is complete, and although this is just the continuation of what's been a 15-month roller-coaster of a ride, the real journey is just beginning. May the remainder of the trip to Oaxaca be as smooth as today was.
They'll be spending an extra day there resting up for the next leg, and if all goes as planned, they'll be stopping in to say hi to one of Gary's old friends, Bob Boundurant - who, being one of the original car guys, will probably get a real kick out of seeing Lucky. If they get really lucky (no pun intended), there might even be little track time in their immediate future. Cross your fingers.
