She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain....

Granted all of these cars have a hell of a lot more than Six horses but they were sure coming around the mountain on their way to and from Zacatecas.

Ok, maybe not ALL these cars came around the mountain this year... But I sure as hell wanted to. I have a score to settle with La Buffa.

Security for LCP teams is never very far away.

It's been a long day for Richard and co-piloto Nate Wilson but even so they find time to enjoy Zacatecas sites with a smile.

Some Lucky And Some Are Not

If Clint Eastwood lived at Zacatecas, before heading over La Buffa he might ask the question, "Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

Lucky... Car #11 Ford driven by Vance Stewart III made a little side trip yesterday that wasn't in the route book but with a lot of help not only were they able to get pulled out but they are now back in the race. When building a car for La Carrera Panamericana, not only is it important to know how to build a car to be fast and reliable but it must also be built to take a lot of abuse.

Un-Lucky... Car #332 Porsche driven by Havier Von Bertram was saved from taking a plunge off La Buffa but as a result was not so lucky and the car will not be able to return to the race.

Lucky... Car #133 Oldsmobile driven by Doug Mockett backed off the road at high speed but was able to get back in the race. It could have been a lot worse.

Lucky/Un-lucky... I'm not sure. Car #121 driven by Karl Scheible was in 2nd overall until he had a bad moment resulting in a off the road excursion. Luckily the car was repairable and he is back in the race and at the end of day five he was in 5th overall.
