What A Great Father's Day Weekend

It's been a simply awesome day and I thought I would make a quick post to share some of it with all of you.

My wife, children and grand son took me out to the track for the day and we all had a great time. The weather was absolutely breath-taking, lots of food, racing excitment, friends, family... what else does anyone need. One very special part of it all was seeing how excited our grandson was all day and he simply didnt want to leave even after a very long day.

During the race Joey Lagano, whom my wife just LOVES was leading what had developed into a very exciting race. Boris Said was within striking distance for the last 20 laps and it was a battle between a road race hot shoe expert versus a 19 year old rookie. Then there was a few minor changes and Joey had two team-mate cars on his rear bumper with only 3 laps to go. During the very last lap the second place car intentionally punted Joey. Nascar saw fit to penalize the car that punted Joey and giving the win to the third place car. Like the old saying says... It aint over till the fat lady sings.

While we were at the track Hershel had a visit from one of his old friends, the king himself, Richard Petty. How damn cool is that!

Hey Papa, this 400 Horsepower ride looks like it will fit me.

This really cracked me up... Race car fans get to the track by any means possible. Some lock up their strolers, some lock their bike or golf cart and so on but this is one I haven't seen before.

Mari Chris finds a new friend. When I aksed him to put on the handcuffs he said, "I can't believe how many times I have heard that today."
