Stand In Their Shoes

I just got word there were some serious accidents today and one section was cancelled as a result. Some cars have left the building so to speak but everyone is ok considering. As I learn more I will post it.

In the mean time... I know it's poor at best but just watch this video as the 2008 La Carrera Panamericana cars travel through a transit section on their way to the next speed stage. It's the same at almost every village big or small that school children and adults will line up at the biggest tope (monster speed bump) to wave and cheer on the race cars. I still haven't figured out who enjoys it more... the race fans or the piloto and Co-piloto.

Just listen to the excitement and then just try and imagine what it's like when we come into the larger cities where there are hundreds of thousands of fans showing the same amount of excitement. Check out how excited they get when the "Moosetangs" come through. Ya just have to love these people. Aren't they great?

Mexican Rally Video

Here is a great compilation from the recent Chihuahua Express where teams and drivers go not only to have some fun amongst friends but also to test their equipment, cars and skill while tuning up for the La Carrera Panamericana.

A couple more fun LCP videos

From time to time I find some La Carrera Panamericana videos that help fuel the fire for those who are wondering what to expect or even to help feed the need for those of us who have been and just can't get enough.

Don't forget the soon to be available La Carrera Panamericana HD DVD. This promises to be the most exciting La Carrera video ever made. You know what the monkey said when he got his tail caught in the organ grinder.... "It won't be long now." Drop me a line at gfaules44@aol.com to be put on the list.

Crank it up and go like hell!

If it's video you thirst for then here is some older video footage from older La Carrera's that should help to wet your whistle.

LIGHTS... CAMERA... ACTION!

Yesterday was spent mostly in a very high tech production studio taping interviews to be used in the new La Carrera Panamericana HD DVD along with driver's, crew, cameramen and North American Coordinator, Gerie Bledso. All three production companies were present and I am amazed how the professionalism in which this entire project is coming to a head. If we keep this up one of these days I might be able to say, "Did I ever tell you about the time I was a movie star?" LOL.

It never really occurred to me how overwhelming this day would be. As I sat quietly and listened to the extremely well organized question answer interviews I found myself transported back into that period of time as if I was back in Oaxaca or that I might walk outside and see Lucky parked amid thousands of fans waiting for us to take off again. I listened while others relived specific moments during La Carrera, some exciting and some not so exciting. It was very rewarding to hear the anticipation in other voices as they relived moments that we all shared together and that many others that were involved with La Carrera will enjoy as well.

Without a doubt, this is going to be by far the best La Carrera Panamericana video ever made. Both Veterans and rookies alike will love this production. Those who have been there will enjoy reliving the spirit of the event while rookies or first timers will be able to get a feel of the adventure that they are about to embark upon. Then again it will be good to watch to get ideas as to how to better prepare for their next trip to La Carrera.

Thank you to all who are involved and a special thanks to Gerie Bledso for just being the wonderful personality that he his. They were all great but just wait until you see Gerie's interview. There have been hundreds of man-hours spent in editing and production and the time is coming soon when this HD DVD will be a reality. In the mean time stay tuned as we hope to release a trailer soon.
